Sister taxa: Mediochoerus blicki, Mediochoerus mohavensis

Type specimen: UNSM 2-11-8-36NP, a partial skull (Skull (lacking occipital region, frontals, and nasals) with I1-M3). Its type locality is Hemingford Quarry 24, which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial horizon in the Runningwater Formation of Nebraska.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution: found only at Hemingford Quarry 24
