Sister taxon: Yaguarasaurus columbianus

Type specimen: CPC 2972, a partial skull (Skull, missing the anterior rostrum and part of the right side). Its type locality is SW hill of Vallecillo, Nuevo Leon, which is in a Turonian/Turonian platform/shelf-margin reef limestone/claystone in the Agua Nueva Formation of Mexico.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore

Distribution: found only at SW hill of Vallecillo, Nuevo Leon
