Type specimen: MCMa 1801.013, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Gruta do Carvão, São Miguel Island, which is in a Holocene cave siliciclastic in Portugal.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore

Distribution: found only at Gruta do Carvão, São Miguel Island
