Type specimen: AMNH 659, a partial skull. Its type locality is Indian Stronghold (Protoceras Channel), which is in a Whitneyan fluvial sandstone in the Brule Formation of South Dakota.

Ecology: ground dwelling browser

Distribution: found only at Indian Stronghold (Protoceras Channel)
