Sister taxa: Sphaerotholus edmontonensis, Sphaerotholus goodwini, Sphaerotholus lyonsi, Sphaerotholus triregnum
Type specimen: RTMP 87.113.3. Its type locality is western Carter County, which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the Hell Creek Formation of Montana.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution:
• Cretaceous of Canada (1: Saskatchewan collection), United States (1: Montana)
Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
