Type specimen: NZGS DC 181, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Tangarakau River Gorge, which is in a Miocene/Miocene marine horizon in New Zealand.

Ecology: epifaunal carnivore

Distribution: found only at Tangarakau River Gorge
