Notophthalmus crassus
Taxonomy
Notophthalmus crassus was named by Tihen (1974). Its type specimen is UNSM 61040, a set of vertebrae (intact dorsal vertebra), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Flint Hill (Notre Dame locality), which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial horizon in the Batesland Formation of South Dakota.
