Synhomalonotus kobayashii was named by Harrington and Leanza (1957) [= Calymene diademata Barrande, Hoek 1912, p. 239, pl. 13, fig. 4.7.].
It was corrected as Synhomalonotus kobayashi by Suarez Soruco (1976); it was recombined as Neseuretus (Neseuretus) kobayashi by Gutierrez-Marco and Acenolaza (1992); it was recombined as Neseuretus kobayashii by Turvey (2002) and Turvey (2005); it was recombined as Neseuretus (Neseuretus) kobayashii by Lemke (2020).
