Taxonomy
Epiborkhausenites obscurotrimaculatus was named by Skalski (1973). Its type specimen is 16, 8 IGUW/AWS, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Tyskiewicz's amber mine, Palanga, Samland Peninsula, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Lithuania. It is the type species of Epiborkhausenites.
