Primelephas korotorensis
Taxonomy
Stegodon korotorensis was named by Coppens (1965). Its type specimen is MNHN K-2-60, a tooth (right lower M3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kolinga, which is in a Pliocene terrestrial horizon in Chad.
It was recombined as Primelephas korotorensis by Maglio (1973), Mackaye et al. (2008).
