Archaeoparadoxia weltoni
Taxonomy
Paleoparadoxia weltoni was named by Clark (1991). Its type specimen is UCMP 114285, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Skooner Gulch I, which is in an Aquitanian marine sandstone in the Skooner Gulch Formation of California. It is the type species of Paleoparadoxia.
It was recombined as Archaeoparadoxia weltoni by Barnes (2013), Matsui (2017), Matsui and Tsuihiji (2019).
