Lepralielloidea was named by Vigneaux (1949). It is extant. Its type is Lepraliella.
It was assigned to Umbonulomorpha by Berning (2006); to Ascophora by Guha and Gopikrishna (2007); to Ascophorina by Di Martino and Taylor (2015); to Neocheilostomina by Gordon (2012), Gordon and Taylor (2015); and to Umbonulomorpha by Gordon et al. (1994), Schmidt (2003), Brezina et al. (2021).
