Day 2002 | A sparid ®sh distinguished by the strongly convex shape of the anterodorsal margin of the frontals, short ethmoid±vomerine region and exceptionally slender premaxillary alveolar and ascending processes. The frontals are cancellose in texture, and the occipital crest is equal in height and length. The maxillary dorsal crest is knob-like. The dentition consists of villiform teeth that cover the occlusal surface of the premaxilla and dentary. The hypurals appear fused and the caudal ®n is high aspect ratio. |
