Taxonomy
Testudo brevitesta was named by Vlachos and Tsoukala (2016). Its type specimen is LGPUT MIL 495, a partial shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Milia 4 (=MIL 4), which is in a Pliocene fluvial sandstone in Greece.
