Taxonomy
Habroichthys broughi was named by Lin et al. (2011). Its type specimen is GMPKU-P-1492, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Dawazi village, Bed Dwz4. (GMPKU collection), which is in a Pelsonian carbonate limestone in the Guanling Formation of China.
