Taxonomy
Gravicalymene quadrilobata was named by Chatterton (1971). Its type specimen is ANU 17844, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a cast. Its type locality is Chatterton Loc. C, near Yass, which is in an Emsian marine limestone in the Taemas Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Apocalymene quadrilobata by Chatterton and Campbell (1980).
