Negevodus was named by Mazin (1986) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis-l Sepkoski's reference number: 940]. It is not extant. Its type is Negevodus ramonensis.
It was assigned to Metoposauridae by Zanon (1991); and to Placodontia by Sepkoski (2002).
