Taxonomy
Sinomastodon intermedius was named by Wang (2014). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Yanghecun, which is in a Baodean terrestrial mudstone in China.

It was recombined as Sinomammut intermedius by Mothé et al. (2016).
