Taxonomy
Peignictis pseudamphictis was named by de Bonis et al. (2019). Its type specimen is UM VD1, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Valbro déblais, which is in a MP 22 sinkhole mudstone in France. It is the type species of Peignictis.
