Taxonomy
Mexicella grandoculus was named by Palmer and Halley (1979). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Grapevine Mountains (USGS 4141-CO), which is in a Delamaran shallow subtidal lime mudstone/wackestone in the Carrara Formation of California.
