Aycrossia was named by Bown (1979). It is not extant. Its type is Aycrossia lovei.
It was synonymized subjectively with Anaptomorphus by Gingerich (1981), Eaton (1982); it was synonymized subjectively with Absarokius by Szalay (1982).
It was assigned to Omomyidae by Bown (1979), Bown and Rose (1987), McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Anaptomorphini by Gunnell and Rose (2002).
