Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
V. L. De Pietri and G. Mayr 2012Small scolopacid that differs from species in Tringinae and Calidridinae (and resembles Li- mosa and Elorius) in humerus with (1) better marked tuberculum dorsale (Fig. 2G), (2) narrower craniodorsal portion of the crista deltopectoralis (Fig. 2G). Differs from Elorius in (1) coracoid with pronounced tuberos- ity on sternal side of the processus procoracoideus, before beginning of shaft (Fig. 3M); (2) humerus with distally V-shaped impressio coracobrachialis (Fig. 2Q). Differs from the middle Miocene calidrine taxon Miro- lia Ballmann, 2004 in cristadeltopectoralis of humerus with (1) less pronounced degree of convexity of caudal surface (Fig. 2G), and with (2) scaffold-like craniodorsal margin (Fig. 2G), (3) fossa m. brachialis larger and more dorsally situated (Fig. 2T, and Ballmann 2004, fig. 6), (4) processus supracondylaris dorsalis not straight from its base (Fig. 2G). This last feature also differenti- ates Parvelorius from the examined extant species in Calidridinae (Fig. 2I).
