Taxonomy
Archaeocyon falkenbachi was named by Wang et al. (1999). It is not extant. Its type specimen is F:AM 49029, a partial skull. Its type locality is Big Muddy Creek, which is in an Arikareean terrestrial horizon in Wyoming.
