Taxonomy
Agraulos stator was named by Walcott (1916). Its type specimen is USNM 61729 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Alokistocare stator by Resser (1935); it was recombined as Mexicella stator by Lochman (1948), Rasetti (1951), Sundberg (2004).
