Q. Jiangzuo et al. 2022Differs from Amphimachairodus in its
smaller size, antero-posteriorly wider and more overhanging gle-
noid fossa, more procumbent incisor row, less angled P3 and P4,
ridge-like and less differentiated P4 preparastyle. Differs from
Lokotunjailurus in absence of P2, larger P3 and more reduced P4
preparastyle. Differs from Homotherium in smaller size, narrower
cranium, distinctly larger P3 and slightly larger P4 protocone. Dif-
fers from Ischyrosmilus and Xenosmilus by smaller size, much nar-
rower skull and more slender dentition, and larger P3. Differs from
“Machairodus” africanus by slightly smaller size, smaller cheek
teeth, and proportionally larger P3.
