Taxonomy
Leptothorax longaevus was named by Wheeler (1915). Its type specimen is no #, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber, Konigsberg collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Temnothorax longaevus by Bolton (2012); it was recombined as Eotemnothorax longaevus by Radchenko (2024).
