Allodesmus sinanoensis
Taxonomy
Eumetopias sinanoensis was named by Nagao (1941) [A specimen that is conserved by Higashi-Shikuma Shiojiri Kyouiku Kai, the Department of Education of the City of Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.]. Its type specimen is no number, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aso, which is in a Langhian/Serravallian coastal shale in the Aoki Formation of Japan.
It was synonymized subjectively with Allodesmus kernensis by Mitchell (1968); it was recombined as Megagomphos sinanoensis by Barnes and Hirota (1995); it was recombined as Allodesmus sinanoensis by Kohno (1996), Kohno et al. (2007), Tonomori et al. (2018), Berta et al. (2018), Boessenecker and Churchill (2018).
