Taxonomy
Cedarpelta was named by Carpenter et al. (2001). It is not extant.  It was considered  monophyletic by  Vickaryous et al. (2004).
It was assigned to Nodosauridae by Vickaryous et al. (2004), Lü et al. (2007); and to Ankylosauridae by Carpenter (2001), Carpenter et al. (2001), Lü et al. (2007), Carpenter et al. (2008), Parsons and Parsons (2009), Kirkland and Loewen (2011), Han et al. (2014), Arbour and Currie (2016), Yang et al. (2017), Arbour et al. (2020).
It was assigned to Nodosauridae by Vickaryous et al. (2004), Lü et al. (2007); and to Ankylosauridae by Carpenter (2001), Carpenter et al. (2001), Lü et al. (2007), Carpenter et al.
