Taxonomy
Halmaturus agilis was named by Gould (1842). It is extant.

It was recombined as Macropus (Notamacropus) agilis by Dawson and Flannery (1985); it was recombined as Macropus agilis by Marshall (1974), Burk et al. (1998).

Synonyms
  • Osphranter stirtoni was named by Marcus (1976). Its type specimen is AM F54954, a mandible (mandibular fragment with P3, M2-4), and it is a 3D body fossil.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Macropus (Notamacropus) agilis by Dawson and Flannery (1985).
