Qatrania wingi
Taxonomy
Qatrania wingi was named by Simons and Kay (1983). Its type specimen is CGM 40240, a mandible (right mandibular ramus with P4-M2 and part of the root of P3), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Quarry E (Jebel Qatrani Formation), which is in a Rupelian fluvial sandstone/mudstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt. It is the type species of Qatrania.
