Comodon gidleyi

Taxonomy
Phascolodon gidleyi was named by Simpson (1925). Its type specimen is USNM 2703, a mandible (partial left mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quarry 9, Como Bluff (YPM), which is in a Kimmeridgian/Tithonian fluvial-lacustrine mudstone/sandstone in the Morrison Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Phascolodon.

It was recombined as Phascolotheridium gidleyi by Cifelli and Dykes (2001); it was recombined as Comodon gidleyi by Kretzoi and Kretzoi (2000), Cifelli (2002), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004).
