Tetralophodon campester was named by Cope (1877) [misattributed to Osborn 1936 by Lambert 2007

mandible of type is said by Lambert to be edentulous, but Cope describes the lower molars in detail]. Its type specimen is AMNH 8527, a partial skull (palate with M3, M2, upper tusk, and edentuluous partial lower jaw), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Mammut campestre by Hay (1902); it was recombined as Pediolophodon campester by Lambert (2007).
