Taxonomy
Nenga meganasalis was named by Bianucci et al. (2007). Its type specimen is SAM PQ 69675, a partial skull (partial skull including the rostrum, the premaxillary sac fossae, and the vertex), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Southern Africa, offshore, which is in a Miocene/Pliocene marine phosphorite in South Africa. It is the type species of Nenga.
