Taxonomy
Heterosorex wangi was named by Storch and Qiu (1991). Its type specimen is IVPP V 9733, a mandible (sin with m1-m3), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Lufeng, Section D, Layer 6, which is in a Turolian terrestrial lignite in China.
