Taxonomy
Euprox robustus was named by Dong et al. (2003). Its type specimen is PDYV0875, an other (nearly complete right antler with complete pedical and a small part of frontal), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Leilai Hominoid Locality, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in the Xiaohe Formation of China.
