Arcius zbyszewskii

Taxonomy

Arcius zbyszewskii was named by Estravís (2000). Its type specimen is CEPUNL SV 1-29, a tooth (M2 sup. dext.), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Silveirinha clay pit, which is in an Eocene crevasse splay conglomerate/siliciclastic in the Silveirinha Formation of Portugal.

Diagnosis

Reference	Diagnosis
C. Estravís 2000	Especie de tamaño similar al de A. rougieri pero inferior al de A. fuscus y de A. lapparenti; posee dientes con relieve inferior a los de A. rougieri. Molares inferiores con paracónido muy poco individualizado en los m1 y m2 (donde constituye un pequeño engrosamiento del paralófido), y un poco más saliente en el m3; el hipocónulido, que en los m1 y m2 es casi un vestigio, se situa en posición muy labial; en el m3 el lóbulo del hipocónulido es muy estrecho y corto. P4 tiene dimensiones similares a las de los molares. Molares superiores con cuencas del trigono y postero-lingual poco profundas, siendo la última poco expandida; cíngulo antero-lingual fuerte; resencia de cíngulo lingual en los M1 y M3.
