Taxonomy
Vinculumtes orbis was named by Khayznikova (1989). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Otvorot River, Sette Daban Mountains, unit 7, which is in an Ashgill shallow subtidal limestone in the Baraniy Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Vinculumtes.
