Taxonomy
Cytherea parisiensis was named by Deshayes (1857) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Meretrix parisiensis by Morellet and Morellet (1944); it was recombined as Pitar parisiensis by Tracey et al (1995); it was recombined as Pitar (Calpitaria) parisiensis by Le Renard and Pacaud (1995).
