Taxonomy
Protrochiscolithus hembrilloensis was named by Flower (1961). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Hembrillo Canyon, San Andres Mountains, which is in an Edenian shallow subtidal limestone in the Second Value Formation of New Mexico.
