Venus subglobosa was named by d'Orbigny (1850) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Marcia subglobosa by Morellet and Morellet (1945); it was recombined as Venerella striatula subglobosa by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995).
