Taxonomy
Pentaphyllum permicum was named by Ilyina (1997). Its type specimen is 2376/367 PIN and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Kurteke River, Second left tributary, which is in a Kungurian shallow subtidal limestone in the Kochusu Formation of Tajikistan.
