Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
S. Niko and R. H. Mapes 2009Longiconic nautiloids with distinct mature shell modification; immature shell annulated with moderate expansion and faint endogastric curvature, more mature shell becomes nonannulated and straight; apical part of mature shell exhibits rapid inflation, but expanding ratios decrease adorally; cross sections of shells are dorsoventrally depressed, subcircular, elliptical to subtrapezoidal with less pointed venter; each annulus has shallow dorsolateral (ocular) sinus; surface lirae well developed in immature shell, becoming subdued or obsolescent in mature shell; sutures roughly transverse; siphuncle small, supracentral with a subcentral to subdorsal position; septal necks suborthochoanitic; cameral and endosiphuncular deposits probably absent.
