Taxonomy
Fasciphyllum insolitus was named by Tyazheva et al. (1976). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Karagailka River, Southern Urals, which is in a Pragian/Emsian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Tyutyulen Formation of the Russian Federation.
