Taxonomy
Discotomaria nodosa was named by Batten (1958). Its type specimen is USNM 133311 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM702d, Hill 5725, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Hess Formation of Texas.
