Taxonomy
Eirlysia nodosa was named by Batten (1958). Its type specimen is USNM 133334 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM706c, Hess Canyon, Glass Mountains, which is in a Roadian marine limestone in the Word Formation of Texas.
