Taxonomy
Omphalotrochus alleni was named by Yochelson (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 119132 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM707o, Lenox Hills, Glass Mountains, which is in a Sakmarian marine shale in the Lenox Hills Formation of Texas.
