Taxonomy
Hunanophrentis abnormis was named by Schröder (2005). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Pack quarry, Linde, which is in a Givetian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone/marl in the Grevenstein Formation of Germany.
