Taxonomy
Stringophyllum crassimarginatum was named by Birenheide and Soto (1992). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is La Valcueva, L-17, which is in a Givetian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Portilla Formation of Spain.
