Taxonomy
Hemiliroceras was named by Ruzhentsev and Shimanskiy (1954) [Sepkoski's age data: P Leon]. Its type is Hemiliroceras inflatum.

It was assigned to Nautilida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Liroceratidae by Teichert et al. (1964), Barskov and Shilovsky (2014), Niko and Mapes (2016), Korn (2025).
