Taxonomy
Peneckiella gracilis was named by McLean (2005). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Fairholme Reef Complex, Hummingbird Creek, Cripple Tongue, which is in a Frasnian perireef or subreef limestone/shale in the Mount Hawk Formation of Canada.
